Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

One of the best things about living in California is the diversity of geography and how close they can be to each other. A perfect example of this is in Palm Springs. You can take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and go up approximately 10,000 feet into the mountain and be in a totally different world.

An old original tram car with the classic log. (which I still love and kinda wish they’d go back to…)

It’s been awhile since I’ve done it, but with the recent rains last month, I thought I’d take advantage of the timing and see some fresh snow. I’m not really a “snow” kinda person, but I do enjoy a little snowman making! ⛄️ It takes only 10 minutes to get up from the base station.

One nice thing about the newer tram cars is the floor spins (slowly) while it’s moving so everyone gets a chance to view all sides.

Here’s some fun pics I took while up there:

Coming back down!

The best part is, once you’ve had your fun, you just jump back on and 10 minutes later you’re back on the ground, and then a few minutes after that, you can be back by the pool in 80 degree sunny weather.

Gotta love California!

Protip: Try to get there as early as you can if you go on a weekend. The line to get tickets fills up fast and you can be waiting for quite a while just to get tickets. I got there pretty shortly after it opened in the morning on a Saturday, and was able to get on the 3rd tram up. But when i got back down, the line was out the door, into the parking lot! The good news is when it’s busy, they run the trams every 10 minutes. More info here.
