The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) in La Jolla is another museum that recently underwent a major renovation. The new complex is basically two different buildings joined at the hip. An existing one, and then a new extension with a new entrance. The project was handled by Selldorf Architects, and basically doubled the square footage.

The new space is so beautiful. Very open and airy, but the real star is the collection of works.

“The Altar of Live News” by Felipe Almada
“No Splash (after David Hockney’s “A Bigger Splash”, 1967)” by Jay Lynn Gomez
“Untitled Figure” by Salomón Huerta
