Wary Meyers Modernist Jewelry

Design team Wary Meyers have created everything from amazing interiors to most recently, a striking line of hand made soaps and candles. Now they have launched Modernist Jewelry, starting with a collection of cocktail rings.

“The idea for the jewelry springs from the our soap, specifically the Astral Shower, which is a white soap with bits of other soap embedded inside. After we make a block of it and slice it into bars we often think that it’s so great looking it should be hung on a wall, or put on a plinth.  So it started with a white block on our soap cutting board, and the thought, “how great would this be as a ring?”. That, infused with the ideas of museum plinths, and a way to incorporate our collection of minerals, is how it started. “

“Our first designs were made of wood, then clay, then lucite, but for the shapes we wanted, none of those worked that well, so we bought a 3D printer and painstakingly learned how to turn pencil sketches and clay maquettes into sleek resin sculptures (in theory- there’s a lot of work to do after a raw print is done).”

“So the aesthetic of these cocktail rings of course to be big and showy like any good cocktail ring, and also have the vibe of being a piece of modern art- almost literally given the allusion to a plinth.”
