February is always an interesting time of the year. The post-holiday slump of January is past and things are starting to brighten up! In the design world, the fashion collection shows happen this month, and the Spring issues of all the magazines start appearing. A lot of the forward directions for 2017 officially make their public debuts and the stores finally are getting rid of all the leftover clearance product! Out with the old, in with the new! As we quickly approach March (yikes!) Here are a few amazing things to end your February with:
1) Domino Magazine Spring 2017 issue
Spring is all about fresh bright colors, and the Spring 2017 issue of Domino Magazine totally caught my eye on the newsstand! Grab this issue folks. It’s their “Color Issue” and it’s a keeper. So much great stuff in this issue! I’m not even going to spoil it for you, just go get it.
2) Nylon Magazine February 2017 : Re-Boot Editorial
Continuing with magazine updates, I LOVE this editorial story in the February 2017 issue of Nylon Magazine (Lena Dunham is on the cover). The graphic pretty colors are sooo everything. 3) Gucci Eyewear video and Fall/Winter 2017 collection
As much as I am an avid minimal/clean/graphic lover, I will at heart, secretly be a Gucci guy. The Tom Ford era in the late 90s-early 2000s was one that I immediately was drawn to, with all of it’s sexy cool sophistication. However, when Alessandro Michele took over, I have to admit I was a little unsure and taken aback because of how different of a direction it went. But now that some time has passed, I’ve totally been won over. The clothing itself is not something I personally would wear, but I totally appreciate the opulent, fantastical, eclectic, romantic, and super quirky vision that Alessandro presents. Here is a recent fun video for his eyewear collection (directed by Petra Collins), and the Fall/Winter 2017 runway collection he presented earlier this week. Love that glass futuristic pyramid set!
4) Point Pot by Dustin Gimbel for Potted
If you’re looking to freshen up your decor with some fresh plant-y pot-ness, then consider this beautiful, modern, simple “Point Pot”. It’s designed by ceramic designer Dustin Gimbel and is exclusively available at Potted, one my favorite go-to places for all things plants related in Los Angeles. It’s available in 3 glazes and is super versatile. Cluster a few together or use just one alone for a striking centerpiece.
