Happy Mundane is a blog that celebrates the ordinary and the extraordinary, good design of any kind, and takes a moment to appreciate some things that get overlooked in the everyday. There’s beauty in your dishsoap. Created in 2006, it is also home to the “mundane” musings of the editor, Jonathan Lo.
Jonathan is the principal and founder of J3 Productions – a multidisciplinary design studio + consultancy based in Orange County, California. He is also the editor in chief of The Octopian, an independently published zine, produced by J3, that explores design, lifestyle, and architecture, all with a sci-fi filter.
Jonathan has been a regional editor for Apartment Therapy.com, and has contributed to Refinery29, Ebay, and Condé Nast Traveler. He has been featured as an on-air expert on HGTV’s “Small Space Big Style.” He has been profiled in multiple publications, including Better Homes & Gardens, Refinery 29, BuzzFeed, Riviera, Angeleno, ElleDecor.com, Inside Out, Home & Decor Singapore, West Elm’s Front & Main blog, and was a featured Tastemaker on One Kings Lane. Happymundane has been included in Domino Magazine’s list of best design blogs.
With over a million followers, Jonathan is listed as one of the Top 10 most followed men on Pinterest by Mashable.com, and mentioned on Huffington Post for his Fashion and Home Decor boards.
