Over the weekend, I stopped by Inspriation-LA, held at the Queen Mary. It’s an amazing vintage clothing and goods event, and as the name implies, was truly truly inspiring. It was put together by Rin Tanaka, who curates those awesome “My Freedamn” books, which I’m sure many of you have seen (and if you’re into apparel or vintage design, probably have a few!) One of the highlights of the show was seeing this series of paintings by artist and surfer Christian Wach.
They were made of resin and acrylic paint. He had a small booth, but these 4 paintings totally stood out. Christian is the founder of Canvas Surfboards, with shaper Ryan Engle.
