California is known for many things, but one in particular that stands out to me is the amount of incredible talent that resides here. Recently, I had the honor of being asked to curate a small exhibition to showcase local artists as part of the 2017 LA Design Festival. Recently, I’ve noticed a growing movement of So Cal-based artists that are taking traditional “craft” techniques, filtering them through their contemporary vision, and making them relevant for today. The exhibition is called “New California Craft” and will featuring the works of 10 artists. Check out a sampling below:
