Good Things from Uncommon Goods

Whenever it comes time to give a gift, I’m always on the lookout for something a little different and quirky. One of my go-to sites has been Uncommon Goods. They’ve been offering unique products from artists and designers throughout the world since 1999. You can always find something that is not only designed well, but also is injected with a sense of humor or element of surprise. With Valentines Day coming up this coming weekend, here are a few gifts ideas you might consider to give (or get for yourself!)

This “Whiskey Wedge” not only cools your drink, but it also just looks…cool! There’s a separate silicone mold that you freeze and then insert into the glass. Next to it is this set of beautiful “Earth Science” glasses from my friends at Brainstorm. There are actually 4 glasses in all, each one displays a section of our universe, including Ocean, Earth, Atmosphere, and Space. Perfect for the nature or design lover!

Picnic baskets are great, but kind of a hassle to carry and transport. This backpack is a totally modern update, with a place setting for two, and even comes with a cell phone pocket on the strap. If you’re in the market for a watch, I love the gray gradation colors of this graphic watch, designed by James Wines, that is inspired by topographical maps.

For all the cookie lovers (and who isn’t!) I love this witty face coffee cup that has a compartment in the mouth to house your dunkable goodies! Comes in a bunch of different colors too. And finally, how cute is this whale stapler?! Fun AND functional!
