mundane aesthetic: weekend moments 6.8.12

Oh Vegas… For many, it’s “Sin City.” And, well… it still is… But for me, I’ve always found it to also be a great source of visual inspiration… (not to mention the people watching alone provides so much entertainment!) A few years ago the face of Vegas started changing. I can remember back in 2008, I posted this image. Every year I go back, it continues to amaze me to see the progress and how it’s continuing to evolve.

This past weekend I got treated to a little pre-birthday celebratory-ness. It also happened to be the big E.D.C. festival. Throngs of happy rave kids all neon-glittery running about town. It was amusing to see how much (and how little) some things have changed in the 20 or so years (yikes) when I was but a wee little rave kid myself. But instead of the hotel hoppin’ and tik-tok the party don’t stop- I ventured out to explore the awesome Springs Preserve park (more on that later), witnessed the kitschy weirdness of the Mystic Falls garden at Sam’s Town, splurged on endless buffets, and hid out from the crowds at the ever luxurious Mandarin Oriental.

All in all- good times! (…and I even got a little neon action (courtesy of H&M) in there too!)

Hope your weekend was great as well… Now, is it friday yet?!
