just a few amazing things 9.23.11

Well my friends, summer is officially over. How did this happen?! Even though it never really gets that cold here in So Cal, I do have to admit I am excited about being able to bust out some “Fall” clothes, and it also means holiday season is coming up! woo hoo! Anyway- happy weekend, and here’s just a few amazing things:

• 1) This bottle opener is totally “fang”-tastic!”…… heh.      heh….   (available here)

• 2) For any all you Angelenos out there, Mid-century modern enthusiasts shall rejoice as it’s the annual Modernica factory warehouse sale!! Next Saturday, October 1, 2011 marks the special occasion. Great deals – 20-80% off! All the deets here.

• 3) I love this color combo- adding neon yellow laces to your natural suede chukkas. Need to do this. now. (via)

• 4) If I had an iphone4- (sigh… eagerly anticipating the new iphone 4s/5 release!) these new “terra nova” covers by Poketo would be quite necessary. Geo-faceted awesomeness.

neon cords

Inspired by these one-of-a-kind lamps from etsy seller, Earth Sea Warrior. Love the combination of vintage with the neon cords! Check out more unique items at their shop here.

pink modern rustic

I don’t normally associate the color “pink” with “rustic”, but the mix of the bright textured walls with all the weathered wood is really working for me. I especially love the simple and clean tonal shelving that is flush to the corner! Keeps it really modern. This image is a little peek into the amazing home of iconic architect/designer Luis Barragan. Oh, and by the way, this is circa 1979!… which is so… now?

There’s a new book coming out at the end of next month about Luis Barragan’s house- appropriately titled Luis Barragán: His House. Can.not.wait. to check it out!
