cool moody hues

This editorial story was featured in the August 2011 issue of the Japanese men’s fashion magazine, Huge.

I have no idea what the context of the story is (since it’s in Japanese), but so many inspiring visual moments going on! Love the moody lighting. Makes me think of a cool weekend morning… which I wish it was right now. (photos by Yasuyuki Takaki / styling by Fumiko Sakuhara)

yellow pop

Nice shelving inspiration featured in the September 2011 Better Homes and Gardens. I like the modern/minimal construction, but it’s that pop yellow that really makes it a stand out. Also like how it’s against a light tan wall, (love the integration of the artwork in white frames into the mix of books and accessories- adds some nice contrast and gives your eye some places to focus). lizzy stewart

TGIF kids! I have a bunch of things to post, but this week has been crazy and I’ve still got a bunch of stuff to finish before I can call it a day! (whew!) This awesome print by Lizzy Stewart is totally going to be the theme for my weekend, and I wish it for you all as well! (image via Lizzy Stewart)

the write stuff

Pretty (mechanical) pencils at Crate & Barrel. And just for fun, Core 77 posted this the other day. Zone out for a few minutes and prepare to be fascinated!

Living Etc. Sept. 2011: 1930′s glam

A nice mix of soft and saturated colors that make for sexy combinations! It’s definitely giving me an updated 1930′s-inspired feel!

Also, totally loving the black “bead” stool by Hive in the last image.

All featured in the September 2011 issue of Living Etc. (Photos by Simon Bevan, Styling by Harriet Paterson)

pendleton portland

I really appreciated the wall mural graphics on the backside of the Pendelton building in Portland. Could be nice inspiration to liven up a patio? Loved the color combination.
